Important Note:

In Houseboats: During cold waves, in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, houseboats face immense hardship in terms of water supply and irregular electricity. Therefore, alternatively, the water supply in washroom areas might be provided in buckets.

In Gulmarg: During heavy snowfall, there will be a change of the vehicle in Tangmarg, which is about 14 km before Gulmarg. Snowjeeps or chained vehicles will be used from there up to Gulmarg and back for which clients have to pay an additional amount of INR: 1500/- for return trip.

In Pahalgam: Sightseeing of Chandanwari, Betaab Valley, Baisaran Valley and Aru Valley is not included in the package and can be done on direct payment.

Day 1

Arrive in Srinagar | Drive from Srinagar to Pahalgam (94 km/approx. 03 hours)

Upon arrival at the Srinagar Airport, a Yatra representative will direct you to the designated vehicle that will drive you to Pahalgam, a small hill station referred to as the 'Valley of Shepherds'.

Pahalgam is located at the convergence of rivulets, originating from the Lidder River and Sheshnag Lake. This place serves as the base for Amarnath Temple Yatra pilgrims. In addition to that, it is famous for its natural attractions, such as the Betaab Valley, Aru Valley, Chandanwari and Baisaran Valley. This hill station also home to many lakes, like Tulian, Katernag, Tarsar, and Marsar.

On your way to Pahalgam, visit places of interest like the Avantipur Ruins, Anantnag Sulphur Springs, Pampore Saffron Fields, Sangam Cricket Bat Factory and Martand Sun Temple. The Avantipur Temple Ruins are known for two ancient Hindu shrines – Avantisvara and Avantisvamin, which are dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, respectively.

The Pampore Saffron Fields are considered to be one of the prominent places for saffron cultivation in the world. En route Pahalgam, lies a town called Sangam, which is known for its cricket bat manufacturing industry. Here, you can find cricket bats being sold under thatched roofs on the roadside. Later, proceed to Anantnag Sulphur Springs, which is said to have medicinal values and that it can cure leprosy. Located in the vicinity is the Martand Sun Temple, which is dedicated to the Sun God.

After reaching Pahalgam, check-in at the hotel before taking a trek or a pony ride to the valleys and waterfalls of Pahalgam to witness the beauty of this place. Thereafter, retire to the hotel and stay overnight.

 

Day 2

Pahalgam ? Aru ? Chandanwari ? Betaab Valley ? Pahalgam (Charges applicable)

Head towards the Aru Valley – a small village located at distance of 12 km from Pahalgam. The area is famous for its scenic meadows, and serves as the base camp for treks to Kolahoi Glacier, Katrinag and Tarsar-Marsar Lakes. There are about 20 alpine lakes, meadows and peaks around this valley, making it a popular tourist spot.  

From there, proceed towards Chandanwari, which is the starting point for pilgrims to the Amarnath Shrine and is about 16 km from Pahalgam. Located at a height of 2895 m above sea level, this region is popular among adventure seekers, who come here to snow sledge on an ice bridge. Thereafter, visit the the Betaab Valley, which is named after a Hindi film and remains a popular shooting location for several Indian films.

After this exciting day, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

 

Day 3

Pahalgam ? Kokernag ? Achabal ? Pahalgam (Charges applicable)

Embark on an exciting jaunt to Achabal and Kokernag.

Achabal is a town in the district of Anantnag, and it famous for its small Mughal garden called Achabal Gardens. It is believed that this garden was built around 1620 AD under the patronage of Nur Jahan, the wife of Mughal Emperor, Jahangir.

Later head to the town of Kokernag, which lies at an altitude of approximately 2000 m above sea level and is popular for its beautiful gardens, trout streams and fresh water springs. The Kokernag spring originates from the base of a hill and gets divided into several channels resembling a hen's foot. Its water is known to possess digestive as well as medicinal properties.

After this day-long trip, retire to the hotel in Pahalgam and get a good night's sleep.

Drive from Pahalgam to Srinagar | Depart from Srinagar

General Terms and Conditions for holidays in India, Nepal and Bhutan

Advance Booking Fee

30 days or more before departure: 25% of total cost
30-15 days before departure: 50% of total cost
Less than 15 days before departure: 100% of total cost
 

Important: The booking stands liable to be cancelled if 100% payment is not received less than 20 days before date of departure.

 

Cancellation Policy

If You Cancel Your Holiday :
 

  • You or any member of your party may cancel their travel arrangements at any time. Written notification or an e-mail to that effect from the person who made the booking must be received at our office. The cancellation charges applicable are as per the published cancellation policy below:

30 days or more before departure: 25% of total cost
29-30 days before departure 50% of total cost
Less than 19 days before departure 100% of total cost

 

If We Change or Cancel Your Holiday :
 

  • We do plan the arrangements in advance. It is unlikely that we will have to make any changes to your travel arrangements. Occasionally, we may have to make changes and we reserve the right to do so at any time. If there are any changes, we will advise you of them at the earliest possible date. We also reserve the right under any circumstances to cancel your travel arrangements by assigning reasons to you.
  • If we are unable to provide the booked travel arrangements due to reasons beyond our control (e.g. bad weather):
    • We shall first try to offer alternative dates for the tour if the tour hasn’t already commenced.
    • If the tour has already commenced, then we shall refund the booking price/fee charged to you on a pro-rata basis depending on the portion of the tour utilized by you.
    • In all circumstances, however, our liability shall be limited to refunding to you the price we charged as tour fees.


If you want to change your holiday plan
 

  • After confirmation of services, if you wish to change your travel arrangements in any way (e.g. your chosen departure date or accommodation), we will do our utmost to make these changes but it may not always be possible. Any request for changes must be in writing from the person who made the booking. All cost incurred due to amendment will be borne by you.


If you have a complaint
 

  • If you face any problem during your holiday, please inform the relevant supplier (e.g. your hotelier, transporter etc.) and/or our representative immediately who will endeavour to set things right. If your complaint is not resolved locally, please follow this up within 28 days of your return home by writing to us, with your booking reference and all other relevant information. However, please be advised that while we are happy to assist you in the redressal of your complaint, if any, we will be able to extend only our best efforts in managing/coordinating your complaint with the respective service provider. All third party service providers are independent contractors who are at no time under our control or supervision.

    All booking vouchers and tickets will be provided 3 days before departure.


Our liability
 

  • In case any promised travel arrangements are not provided by Yatra’s employees or agents as promised, we will compensate you up to the limit of the cost of such arrangements.
  • Yatra does not accept any responsibility for third party services or service providers like hotels, transport etc. For example, transporters are responsible for travel delays while hotels are responsible for inefficient service or lack of hospitality.
  • Yatra is only a tour operator. At no time shall Yatra be held responsible for your acts of misdemeanour/omission and your personal affairs. For example, Yatra shall not be held responsible for ensuring the safety of your personal belongings, travel documents, etc. at any time before, during or after the holiday.


Holiday Insurance
 

  • You are requested to purchase your own travel or holiday insurance. Yatra shall not be held responsible for this service.


Exactness Not Guaranteed
 

  • Yatra cannot and does not guarantee the exactness of any service in the package. For example, photographs of the interiors of hotel rooms posted on our website have been provided by the respective hotels. Hence, Yatra does not guarantee the visual appeal of your room. Yatra wants you to have an enjoyable experience but we cannot and do not guarantee or represent that such a package will be as per your perception or imagination.


General Notes
 

  • Yatra will inform you of any change in prices and only after your confirmation, will we proceed with the booking. There will be no reduction in cost for any unutilised service.
  • Surcharges may be applicable over and above the package cost for the requested period. Yatra will inform you of such costs at the time of booking or before confirmation.
  • You need to make an advance payment at the time of confirming the tour and make the balance payment 35 days prior to the departure of the tour.


Forfeiture of deposit
 

  • Yatra reserves the right to forfeit the non-refundable, interest-free deposit paid by you in the following situations: a) If you cancel the booking b) If you fail to adhere to the payment schedule c) If you are unable to get the visa of any country d) If you are unable to travel because of sickness, on medical grounds or any other reason. The scale of cancellation charges mentioned under ‘Cancellation Policy’ shall be applicable and binding.
