One of the oldest golf clubs in the country, the Gulmarg Golf Club also has the distinction of being one of the (nullif not the), highest in the world. This is an 18 hole, par 72 course with a yardage of 6,985. The club was started in the early twentieth century by the numerous British officers who holidayed in Gulmarg. This was redesigned in the nineteen-seventies by the Australian golf champion, Peter Thomson. The Gulmarg course has one substantial advantage over others and this is the pleasant climate and the cool breeze that allow players to remain on the course for longer periods of time.



Important Note :-

In Houseboats stay:  During cold waves in parts of Jammu Kashmir, houseboats faces immense hardships in terms of water supply and irregular electricity therefore alternatively the water supply in washroom areas might be provided in buckets. 

In  Gulmarg: During heavy snowfall, there will be a change of the vehicle in Tangmarg which is about 14 kms before Gulmarg. Snowjeeps or chained vehicles will be used from there up to Gulmarg and back for which the clients have to pay an additional amount of INR: 1500/- for return trip. 

In Pahalgam: Sightseeing of Chandanwari, Betaab Valley, Baisaran Valley and Aru Valley are not included in our packages and can be done on direct payment 

In Sonamarg: The vehicle is allowed to drop at main Sonamarg and from there onwards one has to walk up to Thajiwass or one can go by ponies on direct payment.

Day 1

Arrive in Srinagar | Sightseeing in Srinagar

Meals: No Meal


On arrival at the Srinagar airport/railway station, proceed to the hotel.

Srinagar is the summer capital and the largest city of Jammu and Kashmir. The city with its beautiful Mughal Gardens, impressive houseboats, pristine lakes and splendid canals, is the pride of the Kashmir Valley. It is also popular for its intricately-carved traditional Kashmiri handicrafts.

After reaching the hotel, complete check-in formalities and relax for a while in your room before leaving for a boat ride. Admire the serene beauty of Kashmir while enjoying a 2-hour shikara (an elongated little boat) ride on the sparkling Dal Lake. Later, visit the local crafts bazaar and buy some exquisite articles of papier mache and wood.

Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.


Day 2

Trip to Sonmarg

Meals: Breakfast


Following a delicious breakfast, undertake an excursion to Sonmarg – the 'Meadow of Gold'.

Sonmarg, positioned at a height of 2740 m, is a breathtakingly beautiful region with ample natural marvels. The town is bestowed with stunning glaciers, serene lakes and flower-laden valleys. Sonmarg serves as a base for many trekking and hiking trails to the snow-covered Himalayan peaks. You can hire a pony for a trek to the Thajiwas Glacier, one of the biggest tourist attractions in the region.

After this interesting jaunt, return to the hotel in Srinagar and stay overnight.


Day 3

Sightseeing in Srinagar

Meals: Breakfast


Post breakfast, leave the hotel to visit the fascinating Nishat Bagh and Shalimar Bagh. These gardens are developed on the lines of 'Mughal chahar bagh' concept. Cherish every moment you spend here as these gardens are an abode to some rare and most beautiful species of flowering plants. After this, proceed to the Handicrafts Emporium, which is popular for traditional hand-knitted shawls, silk carpets and exquisite jewellery. In the afternoon, pay homage at the Shankaracharya Temple. Also known as Jyesteshwara Temple, this shrine is dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Return to the hotel in the evening and stay overnight.


Day 4

Drive from Srinagar to Gulmarg | Sightseeing in Gulmarg

After breakfast, take a road journey to Gulmarg. The name Gulmarg literally means the 'Meadow of Flowers'. It is a magical hill resort blessed with flowering valleys and mesmerising snow-clad peaks. Owing to its ice-capped hilly terrains, the place is the country's premier skiing resort during winter season. Enjoy the stunning vistas of Kongdoor by taking an exciting Gondola Cable Car ride (on direct payment basis). Later, visit the famous St. Mary's Church, which is more than 110 years old. The tour of this hill station remains incomplete without visiting the Gulmarg Golf Club, the country's longest course that measures 7505 yards. It is also the world's highest 18-hole gold course.

Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.


Day 5

Drive from Gulmarg to Pahalgam| Sightseeing in Pahalgam

Before driving to Pahalgam, have a delicious breakfast.

Once a humble shepherd's village, Pahalgam is now colloquially known as the 'Valley of Shepherds'. Positioned at an elevation of 2130 m, the town is located at the confluence of mountain streams flowing from the Lidder River and Sheshnag Lake. It is undoubtedly one of the most stunning places in the country with several breathtaking views. The town is the starting point to some famous trekking routes like the Amarnath Yatra.

On arrival in the town, check-in at the hotel. Admire the natural beauty of Pahalgam while walking along the banks of the Lidder River. Stay overnight at the hotel.


Day 6

Day at Leisure in Pahalgam

Following a delicious breakfast, spend the day in leisure activities. As Pahalgam is acclaimed for its scenic beauty and adventure sports, you may divide your day indulging in both these activities. Take a trail along its beautiful lakes and rivers with a picturesque backdrop of lush green mountains. You may also visit some popular attractions, such as Baisaran, Shikargha and Betaab Valley. For some adventure, you may also try few exciting activities like trout fishing, white water rafting, camping, trekking, mountaineering, snow skiing (during winters), golf and horse riding. Also, visit the local markets, which are flooded with wood products.

After this interesting day, retire to the hotel and get a good night's sleep.


Day 7

Drive from Pahalgam to Katra

After breakfast, embark on a road journey to Katra.

Katra, lying at the foothills of Trikuta Mountains, is the base camp for pilgrims trekking to Vaishno Devi and Baba Bhairo Nath. As these are some of the most famous shrines in the country, Katra has a thriving tourism industry. Thus, this town is marked by an array of accommodation units, restaurants, fast food eateries and traditional markets. The markets are popular for dry fruits, wooden articles, woollen garments and leather jackets.

Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day in leisure activities. Thereafter, retreat to the hotel and stay overnight.


Day 8

Trip to Vaishno Devi

Meals: Breakfast


After relishing your breakfast, undertake an excursion to the Vaishno Devi shrine for darshan. The shrine, around 13 km up, has a well-laid path. You can either walk on foot or hire ponies and palkies.

Located at a height of 5200 feet, the cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi or Trikuta Bhagwati is surrounded by mountains and lush greenery. Inside the cave shrine are three revered rocks called the Pindies. As per popular beliefs, if anyone comes to this place with a wish, the Mother Goddess fulfills it. This unflinching faith attracts millions of devotees every year and makes this shrine one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in the country.

After seeking blessings of Mata Vaishno Devi, return to Katra in the evening. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.

Advance Booking Fee

30 days or more before departure: 25% of total cost
30-15 days before departure: 50% of total cost
Less than 15 days before departure: 100% of total cost

Important: The booking stands liable to be cancelled if 100% payment is not received less than 20 days before date of departure.


Cancellation Policy

If You Cancel Your Holiday :

  • You or any member of your party may cancel their travel arrangements at any time. Written notification or an e-mail to that effect from the person who made the booking must be received at our office. The cancellation charges applicable are as per the published cancellation policy below:

29-30 days before departure 50% of total cost
Less than 19 days before departure 100% of total cost


If We Change or Cancel Your Holiday :

  • We do plan the arrangements in advance. It is unlikely that we will have to make any changes to your travel arrangements. Occasionally, we may have to make changes and we reserve the right to do so at any time. If there are any changes, we will advise you of them at the earliest possible date. We also reserve the right under any circumstances to cancel your travel arrangements by assigning reasons to you.
  • If we are unable to provide the booked travel arrangements due to reasons beyond our control (e.g. bad weather):
    • We shall first try to offer alternative dates for the tour if the tour hasn’t already commenced.
    • If the tour has already commenced, then we shall refund the booking price/fee charged to you on a pro-rata basis depending on the portion of the tour utilized by you.
    • In all circumstances, however, our liability shall be limited to refunding to you the price we charged as tour fees.

If you want to change your holiday plan

  • After confirmation of services, if you wish to change your travel arrangements in any way (e.g. your chosen departure date or accommodation), we will do our utmost to make these changes but it may not always be possible. Any request for changes must be in writing from the person who made the booking. All cost incurred due to amendment will be borne by you.

If you have a complaint

  • If you face any problem during your holiday, please inform the relevant supplier (e.g. your hotelier, transporter etc.) and/or our representative immediately who will endeavour to set things right. If your complaint is not resolved locally, please follow this up within 28 days of your return home by writing to us, with your booking reference and all other relevant information. However, please be advised that while we are happy to assist you in the redressal of your complaint, if any, we will be able to extend only our best efforts in managing/coordinating your complaint with the respective service provider. All third party service providers are independent contractors who are at no time under our control or supervision.

    All booking vouchers and tickets will be provided 3 days before departure.

Our liability

  • In case any promised travel arrangements are not provided by Yatra’s employees or agents as promised, we will compensate you up to the limit of the cost of such arrangements.
  • Yatra does not accept any responsibility for third party services or service providers like hotels, transport etc. For example, transporters are responsible for travel delays while hotels are responsible for inefficient service or lack of hospitality.
  • Yatra is only a tour operator. At no time shall Yatra be held responsible for your acts of misdemeanour/omission and your personal affairs. For example, Yatra shall not be held responsible for ensuring the safety of your personal belongings, travel documents, etc. at any time before, during or after the holiday.

Holiday Insurance

  • You are requested to purchase your own travel or holiday insurance. Yatra shall not be held responsible for this service.

Exactness Not Guaranteed

  • Yatra cannot and does not guarantee the exactness of any service in the package. For example, photographs of the interiors of hotel rooms posted on our website have been provided by the respective hotels. Hence, Yatra does not guarantee the visual appeal of your room. Yatra wants you to have an enjoyable experience but we cannot and do not guarantee or represent that such a package will be as per your perception or imagination.

General Notes

  • Yatra will inform you of any change in prices and only after your confirmation, will we proceed with the booking. There will be no reduction in cost for any unutilised service.
  • Surcharges may be applicable over and above the package cost for the requested period. Yatra will inform you of such costs at the time of booking or before confirmation.
  • You need to make an advance payment at the time of confirming the tour and make the balance payment 35 days prior to the departure of the tour.

Forfeiture of deposit

  • Yatra reserves the right to forfeit the non-refundable, interest-free deposit paid by you in the following situations: a) If you cancel the booking b) If you fail to adhere to the payment schedule c) If you are unable to get the visa of any country d) If you are unable to travel because of sickness, on medical grounds or any other reason. The scale of cancellation charges mentioned under ‘Cancellation Policy’ shall be applicable and binding.
